TERMS & CONDITIONS

Welcome to Sweet London Bakery. By accessing and using our website and services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms & Conditions and Terms of Use. Please read them carefully before using the website or placing an order.

1. Coloring and Ingredients

We use only the highest quality ingredients. While we strive to meet your design requests, please note:

  • Exact color matches cannot be guaranteed, as all cakes are handmade.

  • If certain product lines (e.g., ribbon, decorations) are unavailable, we will substitute with similar products while preserving the original design's intent.

  • Some decorations may include non-edible materials (e.g., wires, jewels). It is your responsibility to ensure all non-edible items are removed before serving.

2. Dietary Requirements and Allergies

Sweet London Bakery is an allergy-friendly bakery and takes great care to minimize the risk of cross-contamination. However, please note:

  • All products are made in a kitchen where nuts, gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, and other common allergens are handled.

  • While we follow strict cleaning and handling practices, we cannot guarantee that any product is completely free from trace allergens.

  • Customers with severe allergies should use their own discretion when placing an order.

  • It is the customer’s responsibility to inform us of any allergies or intolerances at the time of order submission.

  • Sweet London Bakery cannot accept liability for any allergic reactions that may occur.

Although your cake or dessert may not contain a specific allergen, all products are prepared in a shared kitchen environment.

3. Storage

To maintain your cake’s quality:

  • Sugar Paste Cakes: Sugar paste (fondant) icing should not be refrigerated. Cakes with sugar paste should be stored in a cool, dry place in their original packaging, away from sunlight. Refrigeration may cause colors to run.

  • Buttercream Cakes: On warm days, buttercream cakes should be refrigerated to preserve their quality. Remove from the refrigerator prior to serving to allow the cake to come to room temperature for optimal enjoyment.

  • Desserts: Desserts should be refrigerated to maintain freshness and quality. For the best flavor and texture, allow them to reach room temperature before serving.

For maximum enjoyment, please follow any specific storage and serving instructions provided with your purchase. All cakes should be stored out of sunlight in a cool, dry area.

4. Placing an Order

All orders must be placed online through one of Sweet London Bakery’s official order forms available on our website.
We do not accept orders by phone, email, text message, or social media. Enquiries made via these channels will not constitute a confirmed order.

To ensure accuracy and efficiency, please select the correct order form for your needs:

  • Wedding & Custom Orders Form – for bespoke cakes and special event commissions

  • Corporate & Events Orders Form – for corporate gifting, catering, and dessert tables

  • Afternoon Tea & Gifting Form – for dessert boxes, gift sets, and mini dessert collections

Once your order form is submitted, you will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your request. Orders are only considered confirmed once Sweet London Bakery has:

  1. Reviewed the submitted order form

  2. Issued an invoice

  3. Received the required deposit payment

We recommend a minimum of three months’ notice for wedding cakes and three weeks’ notice for all other custom or dessert orders. Orders placed with shorter notice are subject to availability and may incur a rush fee.

Any cake or dessert ordered from a photo will be treated as Sweet London Bakery’s interpretation of that design and may vary slightly in color or decoration.

5. Minimum Order Requirements

Sweet London Bakery requires a minimum order quantity for certain products:

  • Cakes, Donuts and Truffles: Minimum order of 24 pieces.

  • Dessert Cups: Minimum order of 24 cups.

Orders placed below these minimum quantities will not be processed. Please review these requirements before placing your order.

6. Pricing and Deposits

A deposit is required for all orders and becomes due when the order is placed. Orders are not confirmed until the deposit is received.

  • For wedding cakes, the deposit is 50% of the total cost.

  • For other cakes and desserts, the deposit is also 50%, with a minimum deposit of $50.

Final payments for:

  • Wedding cakes: Due 28 days before the event

  • Small desserts and bespoke cakes: Due on the collection/delivery day unless otherwise specified

  • Event/catering orders: Due three days before delivery or collection unless otherwise agreed

All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Quotes are valid for 14 days unless otherwise stated.
Prices may change without prior notice due to ingredient or supply fluctuations.

7. Payments

Accepted payment methods include bank transfer, online invoice payment, card payment via a secure payment platform, and cash.

  • Cash payments are accepted only by prior agreement and must be delivered in hand on the agreed date specified in your invoice or confirmation.

  • Cheques are not accepted under any circumstances.

  • Final payments for small desserts and bespoke orders are due on collection or delivery unless otherwise stated.

8. Alteration to Orders

Changes to an order must be requested within three days of confirmation. We reserve the right to adjust prices for changes requested after confirmation.

9. Returns and Refunds

Sweet London Bakery does not accept returns due to the perishable nature of our products, except in cases of confirmed errors on our part.

  • Refunds may only be granted in exceptional circumstances at Sweet London Bakery’s discretion.

  • If you are not present to accept a delivery and the product is returned, no refund will be issued.

  • Redelivery can be arranged at an additional fee.

  • Shipping and delivery fees are non-refundable.

  • Due to the handcrafted nature of our products, minor variations in color, decoration, and texture are normal and do not constitute a defect.

10. Collection and Delivery

Collection:
Orders can be collected at a pre-arranged time and location. Once collected, Sweet London Bakery is no longer responsible for product condition or any damage during transport or storage.

Delivery:
It is the customer’s responsibility to provide an accurate and complete delivery address.
We are not liable for failed deliveries caused by incorrect or incomplete addresses.
Please inspect products upon delivery and notify us within 24 hours if there are any issues related to quality or accuracy.

Post-Delivery Disclaimer:
Once an order has left our premises (either collected by the customer or delivered via a third party), Sweet London Bakery is not responsible for any damage or deterioration resulting from improper handling, transportation, or storage.

11. No Resale

Our products are intended for personal use only and may not be resold without prior written authorization from Sweet London Bakery.

12. Delivery & Setting Up

Cakes and desserts will be delivered and set up subject to availability. Any arrangements for delivery may be subject to change; however, prior notice will be given where possible.

We will deliver and set up your cake or desserts at the venue specified in your order or at another location agreed with us in writing at the time of order placement. Delivery charges will apply to orders requiring delivery and will be specified when the order is confirmed.

If you have a specific delivery date or require delivery before a given time, please specify this when placing your order. We will do our best to accommodate your requirements. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure Sweet London Bakery has been given the correct delivery information and that someone is available to receive your order. A signature will be required upon delivery.

If the recipient is not available, the order will be returned to Sweet London Bakery, who will contact you to arrange an alternative delivery time. An additional delivery fee will apply. Sweet London Bakery accepts no responsibility for any loss or consequential loss incurred by the customer as a result, such as a wedding or event proceeding without a cake or dessert table.

13. Return of Hired Equipment

Deposits are required for all borrowed or hired equipment. All equipment must be returned within 3 days of the wedding date, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed upon in writing prior to the event.

Failure to return equipment within this time frame may result in additional hire charges. Any items that are damaged, lost, or not returned will incur a reduction in the refundable deposit to cover repair or replacement costs.

14. Publicity and Promotional Rights

By signing the order form, the customer acknowledges that Sweet London Bakery is the sole designer and owner of all cake and dessert designs.
All designs created by Sweet London Bakery remain the intellectual property of the business, and no ownership rights are transferred to the customer.

From time to time, our designs may be published in media such as wedding magazines, online platforms, or social media.
While Sweet London Bakery makes every effort to ensure exclusivity for custom commissions, we cannot guarantee that designs will remain exclusive across all clients unless an exclusive design agreement has been made in writing.

15. Cancellations

  • Wedding Orders: Cancellations made more than 28 days before the event will forfeit the deposit. No refunds are available within 28 days of the event.

  • Custom Desserts & Events: Cancellations made more than 14 days in advance may receive up to a 50% refund (excluding deposit). No refunds within 7 days of delivery or collection.

  • All deposits are non-refundable under any circumstances.

  • If Sweet London Bakery must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, all payments (including deposits) will be fully refunded or transferred to a future order.
